Joanna Burley serves as Client Services and Communication Specialist at McGohan Brabender’s headquarters in Dayton, Ohio.
As Client Services and Communication Specialist, Joanna’s principal areas of expertise lie in Open Enrollment and New Hire Communication. Through the creation of these materials, Joanna takes her clients’ benefit options and breaks them down into an easy-to-understand format. Her primary focus is developing educational materials that will assist employees in choosing the plan that will best fit their needs. However, she also works to foster an appreciation for the value of their benefit plans by listening closely to her clients’ needs and creating a style that will reflect the individual culture of the organization. In addition to building benefit communication materials, Joanna has also facilitated select multimedia projects. She has been involved in the creation of video scripts off-camera, and in the delivery of them on-camera. These videos have included client-specific benefit newscasts, benefit plan tours, and visual communication for clients with Spanish-speaking employees.
Joanna holds over 5 years of professional experience. Before joining the employee benefits industry with McGohan Brabender, she concentrated her efforts in the field of education. Joanna served as a Spanish Instructor at Miami University, where she taught Spanish 101 to all collegiate grade levels. She went on to substitute teach at various area high schools before narrowing her focus to the arena of marketing.
Joanna graduated Cum Laude from Miami University with two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Organizational Communication and one in Spanish. Upon graduating she went on to attend Miami’s graduate program in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese. Joanna holds her Accident, Health, Life and Variable Annuities license and is also certified for Medicare through AHIP (America’s Health Insurance Plans).
Joanna currently resides in Springboro, Ohio.
