Lance Tyson, the President and CEO of Dale Carnegie Training of Ohio, ventured from Philadelphia to Cleveland and has sent Ohio Dale Carnegie revenues rocketing, placing Dale Carnegie of Ohio into the Top Ten franchises in the world. Tyson is a facilitator, trainer & conductor of over one hundred workshops annually in areas such as performance management, leadership, sales, sales management, customer service and team building. Tyson attended Penn State, and joined Dale Carnegie in 1995. In 1998 as Vice President of Sales for Dale Carnegie Philadelphia, he led and managed one of the top fi ve producing sales teams in Dale Carnegie worldwide. He took over the Dale Carnegie sponsorship in Cleveland in November 2002, and in 2003 he won the prestigious Chairman’s award from Dale Carnegie & Associates, Inc., after his landmark success with sales in his fi rst year in the Cleveland market. Robert T. Dunlevey is a management, labor and employment law attorney and senior partner in the fi rm of Dunlevey, Mahan & Furry. His fi rm provides employment law counseling to businesses throughout the Midwest. Bob has represented businesses for over three decades. His representation involves federal and state court litigation, NLRB and EEOC proceedings, workers’ compensation and OSHA defense, wagehour administration and collective bargaining. Bob was previously employed by a Fortune 500 corporation as “in-house” labor counsel and served 53 plants in the U.S. and 10 plants in Canada with respect to labor relations, discriminations and collective bargaining. Rosalie M. Catalano (MBA, SPHR) Founder and President of Keystone HR Consulting, LLC

Rosalie has a broad background in business with work experience in sales and marketing, general management, corporate communications, branding and identity, and human resources. She has held several executive level management positions in both large and small, as well as public and private, companies. Kristi Dinsmore, Director of Client Professional Services for Sinclair Community College

Prior to joining Sinclair, Kristi was Vice President, Consulting Services for Right Management Consultants where she focused on leadership development, specifically coaching senior executives and high-potential talent.  From 1999 through 2003, she was Director of the University of Dayton’s Center for Leadership & Executive Development where she created custom-designed development offerings for Fortune 1000 senior executives.  She has experience working in the retail, consumer products and technology industries with both global and national companies.  Kristi has worked extensively with such nationally known business thought leaders as Ram Charan, Jim Kouzes, Brad Smart and Robert Goldberg.  Since joining Sinclair, she has focused on leveraging her corporate and leadership development experience to meet client management and consulting needs in the area of individual and organizational effectiveness.

Karen Roberts, CPA, CFE, Director of Forensic & Fraud Services, Battelle & Battelle
Karen joined Battelle and Battelle in 2006 after nine years with a regional New England public accounting fi rm. She obtained her BS from Southern New Hampshire University (formerly New Hampshire College).

Karen has performed numerous fraud investigations and prepared reports for use by employers, law enforcement offi cials, insurance carriers, and the courts. She has provided grand jury and trial testimony. Her clients have included the Inspector General’s Offi ce for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Department of Education, as well as municipalities, businesses, and individuals. Projects included cooperative investigations with IRS and bank offi cials.

Karen also has performed many operational studies and internal control evaluations and provided recommendations for improvements. In addition she has performed compliance audits for various state and federal organizations.

Karen has also been an active speaker on the topics of fraud detection and prevention. Groups have included Government Finance Offi cer Organizations, business owners and college classes. She is a member of both the AICPA and the ACFE (Association of Certifi ed Fraud Examiners.)

While living in Massachusetts, Karen served as Treasurer of Friends of the Forest, a non-profi t organization dedicated to promoting responsible use of the local state forest. In addition, she was secretary and member of the executive board for her local neighborhood organization.

William C. (Bill) Lisse, CISSP
, IT Audit Manager, Battelle & Battelle

Bill earned his B.S. in Computer Information Systems (Summa Cum Laude) from Park University, has a B.A. in Management (concentrating in Industrial and Organizational Psychology) from the University of Maryland and went on to complete his M.A. in Managerial Economics from the University of Oklahoma. He joined Battelle & Battelle LLP in 2007, with over 14 years specifically developing and evaluating technology risks and information technology (IT) controls for compliance in a variety of business environments and networked system implementations. 

Bill’s areas of expertise include IT governance, IT controls, systems analysis & design, business continuity & disaster response planning and system security engineering across the system development life cycle. Prior to joining Battelle & Battelle LLP, he was the Executive Director for Risk Analysis at ManTech International and a Technical Director at Aegis Research Corporation.   Bill is also a retired Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI) where his duties included critical infrastructure protection and felony investigations, including fraud. 

Bill holds specialized Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) certificates in HIPAA Security (GHSC) and Payment Card Industry Digital Security Standards (GPCI), and is an InfoSec Institute Certified Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Security Architect (SSCA).  He is a member of ISACA, IIA, Software Engineering Institute, ISC2, IEEE Computer Society, and the FBI Infragard – Dayton Chapter.  Bill served as a subject matter expert for the Computing Technology Industry Association's (COMPTIA) Security Certification.  He has also authored a number of articles for the Competitive Intelligence Journal, Competitive Intelligence Magazine and other professional organizations.

Ed Eppley, Dale Carnegie Training®
Top-level selling and teaching performance is a regular event for Ed Eppley. A long-time Dale Carnegie instructor, Eppley added Training sales to his role in 1993. Representing the Columbus / Dayton areas, Mr. Eppley has been in the Top Ten Worldwide for Carnegie sales for the past ten years.

Laura Nortz – Dale Carnegie


Laura Nortz began her Dale Carnegie career as a participant in the Sales Advantage program. At the time, she was working as a sales representative and saw first hand how Dale Carnegie training improved skills to produce results.  She moved into a sales management position before deciding to join Dale Carnegie Training full time. Laura was certified as a Dale Carnegie Course trainer in 1989 and subsequently has been certified in Customer Relations, Employee Development and Professional Development, all of which focus on identifying client needs and delivering training that helps move individuals and organizations to the next level.

Laura has worked with companies of all sizes including Ford, General Motors, Invacare, Henkel Consumer Adhesives, R.W. Beckett and BMW Financial Services. She consistently achieves high scores in customer satisfaction. As Director of Training and Development for Dale Carnegie Training of Ohio and Indiana, Nortz states, “we witness clients accomplish growth in their personal and professional life they never thought possible”.
                       
Prior to her involvement with Dale Carnegie Training, Laura received a B.B.A. She has been married to Chris for over 20 years and they have three wonderful children-Morgan, Ryan and Meredith. When she’s not attending one of her children’s events, she has served as PTU officer, St. Christopher School Curriculum Committee co-chair, Marriage and Family Ministry mentor and volunteer for various fundraising events.

Heather Bailey, Client Wellness Coordinator - McGohan Brabender

Heather enjoys a unique position within McGohan Brabender, as it is her job to identify and address company-wide needs-- and then produce results! Since joining MB in 2004, she has laid the groundwork to establish MB’s Human Resources Department, created an internal performance- based bonus program, and formalized a
charitable giving program to serve the communities of which MB is a part.

Her most recent challenge has been to develop a wellness program that can be carried out to clients. Modeling the program after McGohan Brabender’s own successful CLIMB (Changing Lifestyles Inside McGohan Brabender) wellness program, she steers companies to harness employee volunteers to own and carry the message of “wellness” to their fellow employees. This product has been branded as “eMBrace Wellness,” a customized solution for clients of all sizes to use when establishing in-house wellness programs.

In 2007, she was a workshop presenter at the state-wide Healthy Ohio conference and also became certified through WELCOA (Wellness Council of America).
A volunteer member of Healthy Dayton Coalition, she collaborates to help Miami Valley residents choose lifestyle behaviors that improve their health. Through it, she is serving on the steering committee of an exciting project coordinated by Wright State University’s Center for Healthy Communities. This multi-year project analyzes the Miami Valley’s wellness attributes that bridge (or prevent) citizens to be well. The first cycle of this project is expected to be finished in 12 months.

Heather brings 22 years of professional experience to McGohan Brabender. Before joining MB, Heather held the position of Vice President of Grants and Programs at The Dayton Foundation. Through this nonprofit work, she developed the skills to work with volunteer leadership who strive to bring good to the community. This skill serves her well as she pulls together volunteers to create cultures of wellness in their own companies. Heather is a graduate of Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, where she earned two Bachelor’s degrees: a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Business Management.

Frank Calderone, Human Resource Development

Frank has long consulted and trained with manufacturing organizations, cities, not for profit organizations, on strategic planning, organizational development, improved decision making, continuous improvement, management development, quality system development at the executive management level.  He is a certified trainer and directs a management assessment and training organization.  Frank has trained and developed over 5,000 employees, supervisors, managers, and executive managers.  Frank has authored and customized training courses on  management performance, team building, and analytical problem solving.  He has led training sessions for change management, conflict management, critical thinking, assertive leadership, stress management and executive management development.  He has authored articles on risk management in the workforce, techniques for effective training, management development in Ohio cities, and is co-author of “The Fifth Dimension of Training” published in the Alliance for Innovation’s former IGNewsletter in May of 2007.

He has extensive experience as a senior executive.  He has be responsible for training development programs.  Frank has provided training and consulting to organizations for more than fifteen years and has trained and consulted to local governments.  He has been an executive manager in private sector organizations.  Frank graduated from the University of Akron in Management.  Frank is certified as a trainer and facilitator by Organizational Dynamics, Interact Performance Systems, and Plexus Training Systems.

Allen has over 20 years of international experience, and has been actively involved in developing and supporting international healthcare, dental, disability and travel medical plans for multinational employers ranging from the Fortune 100 to emerging multinationals.  He has assisted international assignees, traveling executives and key local nationals through his travels to locations including Kuwait, China, United Kingdom and Germany.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Drew University and has attained Fellow status from ISCEBS.  He has written various articles, notably "Culture, Infrastructure and International Health Benefits Delivery" in Benefits Quarterly; and "Expatriate Benefits for a Changing Global Economy" in Benefits & Compensation Solutions. 

David has been with CIGNA International Expatriate Benefits since 2005. He is located in the Cleveland regional offices, with primary responsibility for international sales in Ohio and Michigan. He has been in the healthcare benefits field for more than 15 years and speaks regularly to business and employer groups on the topic of international benefits issues and trends. David graduated from Bryant University in Smithfield, RI, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration.

Janetta Ross is Director of Marketing & Training at Simplesoft Solutions

Janetta is a 1987 graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, WV and started her career for NCR Corporate in Charlotte, NC as a sales consultant soon after graduation.  After a 15 year career at NCR, Janetta joined Simplesoft Solutions in 2002 where she functions as both a training specialist and marketing director.  She is one of only three certified trainers for SageCRM software in the state of OH.    Simplesoft Solutions is a customer relationship management consulting firm and a business partner for Sage Software in the Ohio, WV, and KY areas.
