Social Media and Your Employees
Presented By: Robert Dunlevey, Managing Partner at Dunlevey, Mahan & Furry
Date: February 23, 2012
Type: Learning Center Course
There is a strong movement in Washington right now to 'empower employees.' In a series of proposed and enacted regulations, federal agencies are giving more rights to employees and restricting employers' opportunities to effectively deal with difficult employment circumstances. The NLRB, which regulates non-union companies as well, is attempting to give rights to your employees to utilize your company's email systems and other social media to speak out against the company and, among other things, to cause it to be organized by labor unions. Disenchanted employees are campaigning against their bosses by effectively utilizing the broadening social media causing embarrassment to their companies and their management. Can this be stopped? Employers must walk a very narrow line between protecting their interests and encroaching upon the new found rights of their employees to speak out about compensation and working conditions. Each employer needs to understand the social media threat and be prepared to effectively deal with it within the confines of the law. Learn what you need to do now to protect your company. As an extra bonus, the most recent developments in state and federal employment issues will be presented.

Establishing an Environment of Trust
Presented By: Pete Kunk, Partner at Built to Lead
Date: September 6, 2012
Type: Learning Center Course
A team that is building trust over time and through adversity is a team that is building the key ingredient to performance. Trust is not the only key to performance, but it is at the heart of performance. When we trust ourselves and our team, we do not hold back. We perform at or near our peak. We commit. We go for it. We believe in each other. As leaders we tend to take this element for granted, but nothing could be further from the truth. According to a recent Gallup Survey, 90% of the surveyed workers perform their best work away from the job. They save their best efforts for their communities, families, or charities. They underperform at work, I believe, simply because they do not believe. Trust is at the heart of performance. How well do you and your team trust each other? Who can you count on? Whose character do you trust? What does sustainable performance have to do with TRUST?
Outcomes:
Learn the four essentails of building an environment of trust
Understand how to cultivate sustainable performance
