McGohan Brabender is proud to partner with streaMed™ in order to provide educational tools to our clients' employees and their family members.  McGohan Brabender is currently the only employee benefit brokerage agency in the country that provides streaMed™ service to its clients.

streaMed™ is a web-based patient education solution that features a multimedia library of patient and consumer health education videos, animations, text handouts and accredited health websites incorporated into an on-demand software application. Effective and engaging, the evidence-based content contains information regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and procedures for use at the point of care and beyond, with Information Prescription® codes providing patients access before and after visits.

wired.MD is an organization based in Portland, OR that specializes in the production of patient education videos, and provides these videos through a number of different modules. (Examples: web-based branded application, CCTV systems, placement on websites, DVD/VHS).

wired.MD's main product is the web-based streaMed application, which gives access to the wired.MD library of health videos, text handouts, and a database of accredited health websites.

Videos are all at a 5th to 8th grade level, and average 7 minutes in length. All videos follow a format that incorporates animation, diagrams, and real-life situations. Studies have found that providing patient education in this format increases retention and therefore, compliance. Videos are available in several languages, including Spanish and Polish, with a limited number of titles available in Russian, Cantonese, Vietnamese and Mandarin.

A key component of this product is the ability to "prescribe" a health video to a patient that in turn they and/or their family can access from a home computer to watch as many times as necessary. This is a fantastic way to prepare someone who has been scheduled for a specific procedure in the near future, or provide information regarding a diagnosis.
