Some employees may want to change their behavior for insurance purposes or just life in general, i.e. tobacco cessation or weight loss. How do you, as their manager, or HR director interact with them and improve their engagement? By attending this Learning Center, together with Kriss Haren and Amy Harris, both trained counselors of Health Coaching with Motivational Interviewing, you will learn about the different styles of talk that Health Coaches can facilitate for behavior change to employees at any stage of change. Amy Harris, Director of Key Accounts at HealthWorks
Amy has a master’s degree in Health Education from The Ohio State University and has worked in corporate wellness for over 20 years. This experience includes selling for HealthWorks, selling large group health insurance for Humana, serving as benefits manager for a family owned company and health coaching. In addition to sales, she is completing board certification for functional health coaching to add to her corporate wellness toolbox.
Kriss Haren MA, MS, Behavioral Educator at Kettering Health Outreach
Kriss is licensed in the State of Ohio as a supervising professional clinical counselor and has more than 30 years of experience. Since 2009, Kriss has completed advanced training in the clinical application of MI, supervision of MI in clinical settings, and the very competitive “Training of New Trainers.” Kriss has trained over 4,000 professionals from numerous fields, including behavioral health, medical and allied health services, education, and dietetics. She is member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT).
In 2013, Kriss created Collaborative Communication Consulting & Training Services, LLC, in order to continue the work of improving patient engagement, patient-provider communication, and inter-professional communication through MI training and specialized consultation services. She currently works with clients from several states as well as in Canada. Kriss serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Dayton, where she teaches MI to behavioral health graduate students. Kriss is also a Registered Health Coach at the Expert level with HealthSciences Institute of St. Petersburg, Florida.
