Joe Motz is CEO of the Motz Group, a national athletic field specialist based in Cincinnati. Motz grew a successful business from scratch, by himself, but it took a toll on his health. His dreams were nearly sidelined by a health wake-up call, but he was determined to make some lifestyle changes and reverse his risk. Today, Motz supplies synthetic and natural turf to professional and high school teams in the tri-state area and beyond. He shares his story with Scott and Anne Marie.
Joe Motz is the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Motz Corporation, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a graduate of The Ohio State University in 1977 with a B.Sc. in horticulture, Joe embarked on his journey by starting a successful landscape maintenance and grounds care business. Over the course of 40+ years, his vision continues to flourish.
The Motz Corporation is committed to the development of their most valuable differentiator – the employees – as together they strive to make a difference in people’s lives. Joe’s philosophy of continuous innovation, accountability, championship quality, and integrity, has made TMC one of the most recognized, respected turf firms in the world.
TMC, which fittingly became an employee owned company in 2018, includes:
• The Motz Group: Experts in high performance natural and synthetic athletic field systems
• USGreentech: Leaders in progressive infill solutions for the synthetic turf industry
If you think your organization can’t afford to give back, think again. Scott and Anne Marie show how resources spent on charitable pursuits is good for employers, employees … and it’s good for business. When more people are selective about who they work for or do business with, a giving culture can give you the edge.
Business leaders often find themselves unable to turn to a colleague for advice or feedback. Fortunately, Aileron is here. Scott is joined by Joni Fedders, President at Aileron, to discuss how Aileron is creating a space where entrepreneurs can express their honest concerns and get valuable feedback.
